Food Safety 101

Some cooking experts rely on how they see the food to tell whether it is done or not. But sometimes this could be misleading. The color of the food is not as reliable as it may seem. To make sure that food is properly cooked and ready to be placed on Table top display, it is safer to follow these guidelines:

• Food thermometer is a reliable kitchen instrument. It assures that the food has reached its cooking temperature to kill the food-borne bacteria.

• In using the microwave, its carousel should be working properly to evenly cook the food. In case it is not functioning correctly, be sure to rotate the food manually.

• If you are going to reheat foods, be informed on the right temperature needed to eliminate the harmful bacteria.
