Tipping Etiquette 101

According to legend the word “tip” was coined by a club owner which is the acronym for the word “To Insure Promptness” which was place on the box. Generally, tip is given as a reward for the good service received. Since then tipping has evolved from subcultures to another, hence it is important to know the tipping etiquette especially if you are going to a new place.

If you plan to stay in a particular place for a long time and wish to receive the best service, then it is advisable to give a large tip upfront. Or if you have been receiving the service of a particular person from the start till the end of your stay, then you can give the tip on your last day. Either of the two is accepted when it comes to tipping.

Keep the bills or loose change handy, it is very inappropriate to ask for a change. If you do not have any small bills ready, it is much more acceptable to skip tipping rather than ask for a change.
