We had a simple celebration of Valentine’s Day at work. Since we anticipated it would be very hard to make reservations on lunch time, we decided to have our Hap Chan meal delivered. That’s what I love in our time, we can order food, composter, gadgets or anything we desire and have it delivered on our front door – no sweat!

So the meal consisted of our all time favorite from Hap Chan – Young Chow, Fried Chicken, Beef Brocoli, Sweet and Sour Pork and Calamares. And the desert? From where else – Max’s heart-shape Toffee Cake!

A Night of Food and Music

Sometimes I wonder if husband and I will ever have a time to go out on a romantic date at Lesley’s – a place in Tagaytay that’s famous for their beef stew with a band that would serenade you while you feast on their delicious cuisine. Not sure if one of their guitar uses rickenbacker 620, but boy they really is one of the best place to spend a romantic night ever!

It’s been a while since I last dine at Lesley’s and am hoping that soon, when our second daughter is bigger, we can finally enjoy a night of food and relaxing music once again.

Max’s Heart-shape Toffee Cake

The star of our Valentine’s Day celebration at work is this Max’s Heart-shape toffee cake. I don’t know if it’s just me but since it’s a combination of chocolate and coffee I find the cake bitter sweet.

But the taste keeps me coming back for more slice! Simply delicious.

Tropical Hut Pre-Valentines Date

A week before Valentine’s Day, husband had to go to his out of town trip somewhere South so we decided that when he come back, we had to go out on a date (for a very short time since the kids would be waiting back home!). No need to wear something fancy or sexy lingerie for me since I will be coming from work and husband from the airport, so husband decided that we meet at Tropical Hut. We don’t frequent this fast food chain so I decided to try their palabok and chicken while husband tried their clubhouse sandwich.

Our meal plus the endless conversation about his recent trip made the pre-valentine’s date all the more memorable. Told you, husband and I can dine anywhere and we would have a hearty meal together. I can rate my meal satisfactorily and I know husband would say their clubhouse is just good!

Max’s Restaurant Baptism and Birthday Party Packages

Having a child at home makes me anxious on her first big occasions – baptism and first birthday. These two occasions should be planned out months ahead, just like planning on where to get the best mobile computer carts– the reception should be thought of a million times over. On my first born, husband and I decided to put the two occasions in one. After my first daughter’s baptism we had her first birthday party in the afternoon at Chowking since it is the only place near us.

How I wish there’s Max’s GMA Branch just so i can inquire on their baptism and birthday party packages. The nearest Max’s from where we live is Max’s SM Dasmarinas Branch which is about 15minutes drive and it would be inconvenient for the guests to travel from the church to reception. I got the flyers of Max’s party packages and it is somehow affordable my only problem is that it’s a long way to get there.
